Practical notes
- The fee is charged per room or apartment per night, not per person: two people sharing a room pay one fee.
- April to October is the high-season rate; November to March the low-season rate. For stays across two months with different rates, the receipt is issued per month.
- The guest pays it at the property after the stay and before departure, and receives a separate receipt. It is not subject to VAT.
- The same national rate applies everywhere in Greece. Cruise passengers pay a separate cruise fee (not covered here).
Who collects it: The hotel, rental host or property manager, at the end of the stay.
Exemptions (official)
- Accommodation provided free of charge (the fee is not imposed)
