Canary Islands holiday let licence 2026: Ley 6/2025 rules

To let a home to tourists in the Canary Islands you must file a declaración responsable with the island Cabildo, which registers the home on the Registro General Turístico with a registration number (Ley 6/2025, art. 8, checked on 5 November 2026). The registration on the Registro General Turístico contains a registration number that must be included in any advert or listing of the home, on platforms or elsewhere (Ley 6/2025, art. 8.6); advertising without it is a very serious offence (Ley 7/1995, art. 75.16).

Not legal advice. This page summarises official texts and open data; it does not tell you whether a particular home can be let or keep its registration. Town halls set their own planning rules and communities of owners can restrict tourist use: before you buy, let or advertise, check with the regional tourism department and the Ayuntamiento, or ask a professional.
